At York Laser and MedSpa we use a radio frquency device called Accent to help you tighten skin and reduce laxity and sagging. It  is used for large areas such as the abdomen (e.g after preganacy). 

The device is activated and moved quickly back and forth over the skin. Radio waves penetrate the skin resulting in gradual heating that is quite comfortable. It feels like a warm facial massage with the occasional hot spot. 

The heat tightens existing collagen and stimulates the production of new collagen which comes on gradually over three to six months.

We recommend starting in your forties when you still have a strong ability to produce new collagen. 

Initially, three to six sessions are recommended depending on the degree of skin laxity. Collagen is very durable. Once you have made it, it will last for years. None-the-less, maintenance sessions are required perhaps once a year.
